MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS:
Branch luncheon meetings for 2008-2009 are held at the First Baptist Church, between Charlotte and Oak Street just south of I-240. Although the address is 17 Oak St., by entering from Charlotte Street, the parking is free.
The cost of the lunch is $12.00 per person and reservations must be made. Checks should be mailed to Eleanor Scott, AAUW, PO Box 5445, Asheville, NC 28813. Reservations must be received by the Thursday before the Branch meeting. Members who wish to attend only the program portion of the meeting do not need to make a reservation. In case of inclement weather, Branch meetings will be cancelled when Asheville city schools are closed.

Sunday, September 28, 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Covered dish picnic and social at the Beaverdam Run Condominium Club House. Bring $5 each and a dish to share; drinks provided. Make a reservation by Thursday, September 25 to Judi Peterson, 255-8734.
Wednesday, October 15, 11:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Asheville. Speaker is Susan Reinhardt “Healing Through Humor.” Bring a guest, space is limited to 50. Reservation and check for $12 due to Eleanor Scott, AAUW, PO Box 5445, Asheville, NC 28813 by October 9.
Wednesday, December 3, 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. “Friend-raiser” at the Governor’s Western Residence, Town Mountain Road. This is a Branch social so bring a friend. Make a reservation by Monday, December 1 to LaDean Peterson, 650-3005.
Wednesday, February 18, 11:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Asheville. Speaker is B. A. Schenk “Research on Tropical Seabirds.” Reservation and a check for $12 is due to Eleanor Scott, AAUW, PO Box 5445, Asheville, NC 28813 by February 12.
Wednesday, March 18, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at The Potters Mark at Cotton Mill Studios, 122 Riverside Drive, Studio A. Speaker is Aileen Black, Potter “Tour and Demonstration.” Wine and cheese will be served for a cover charge of $5; space is limited to 35. Make a reservation by March 12 to Janet Graham, 274-5120.
